Againity is a Swedish technology company that manufactures Organic Rankine Cycle systems (ORC) that convert low-temperature heat into electricity and energy. 

If Againity were to install their heat-to-electricity converters globally, they would reduce global CO2 emissions from heat by 0.18%. That’s the equivalent of 463 million tree seedlings growing for 10 years.

turbine that handles liquid heat down to 90 degrees Celsius, and has a relatively short repayment period. 

The system’s ORC technology consists of a patented axial turbine powered by pressure from hot steam. This turbine then converts the pressure to electric power using a generator. The turbine works at 3,000 RPM, and the refrigerant they use causes no harm to the environment. 

The benefit of using Againity is the production of climate-friendly electricity from a waste product. Unlike electricity generated by wind or solar power, it’s totally unaffected by the weather, while cost-effective and robust, and. The only downside is the speed of scaling it, and establishing it in new markets. 

Againity has sold 24 ORC systems between 50 kW - 500 kW electricity, including customers such as Solör Bioenergy, E.ON, Eidsiva Energi, Ystad Energi, and Ronneby Energi.
